Arrangement Themes 2024
A: SHOW CASE THEME: “BERLIN FAIR CELEBRATES 75 Years”
The Berlin Fair is celebrating its 75th Diamond Jubilee Anniversary. So many changes have occurred over the years and we are so very thankful for the support we’ve received and what the Fair has meant to our town. The Fair enables the Lions Club the ability to provide so much help and support to so many in our community. Let’s celebrate this milestone by creating a white themed arrangement in a clear Vase with a decorative ribbon
The height of the arrangement shall not exceed 20”. The Lions will donate, in the designer's name $50.00 to the Charity of the winning arrangement, please include a printout or brochure of your Charity.
Taking a look back on our past Themes
B. “MOST UNUSUAL CONTAINER - 2021” – Be crazy and creative with anything from an automobile carburetor to a fishing reel. The arrangement should be all fresh flowers of the designer’s choice.
C. “PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE – 2018”” – A free choice arrangement in Red, White and Blue is required. Small Flags, not to exceed 3” in height, may be displayed as well as other accessories. No painted material permitted.
D. “GO UCONN HUSKIES – 2005” – UCONN is the undisputed center of college basketball with the defending National Championship Men’s team looking for a three-peat and the Women’s team looking to add to their 11 Championships. Please prepare a UCONN themed arrangement, the colors of the overall arrangement and container along accessories should reflect the Husky colors and spirit.
E. “TREASURES (New World) - 2004” – These were the belongings that were brought over with immigrants. While they may have been a little thing, each had a special meaning to each person. A Rose arrangement, in a meaningful container to the arranger, would be appropriate here. Roses of the same color and variety and greens only are required. No Accessories permitted.
F. “THE GOLDEN ERA OF RADIO - 2008” – Before CD’s, Cassettes and Eight Tracks, there was Radio to absorb our spare time. It was fun listening to old time shows, boxing matches and daytime soaps. Let’s not forget those days by depicting them in an arrangement using the designer's choice of yellow flowers in a wooden container, accessories to complement the theme is encouraged.
G. “CONNECTICUT’S CASINOS - 2010” – Many have been drawn to either Foxwoods or the Mohegan Sun casinos. All of the lucrative slot machines or table games dare you to try your luck and “Win Big”. Of course, we can’t forget the entertainment and dining they offer. Prepare a tall glitzy arrangement depicting what the casinos have to offer. Flowers of any kind and color may be used to show the beauty of the casino. The container should enhance the glitz of the arrangement. The height of the arrangement shall not exceed 18”.
H. “I LOVE PARIS IN THE SPRINGTIME - 2007” – With a little adlib from the original theme, Paris will host the 2024 Olympic Games, please create an Olympic themed arrangement which highlights the colors of the Olympic rings. Accessories depicting the Olympics as well as the city of Paris are encouraged the height of the arrangement shall not exceed 16”, the container is of the designer's choice
I. “THINK PINK - 2016” – The Berlin Lions Club joins with Susan G. Komen in raising Breast Cancer Awareness. “Think Pink” early detection saves lives, so please call for your mammogram today. Please design an arrangement with Pink being the dominate color in a container of the designer's choice no larger than 8”. We also encourage the designer to include a small business sized card displaying the name of a loved one or survivor. #thinkpink #savelives
